Tippmann: Project Salvo

We are excited to release the new U.S. Army Paintball Marker – Project Salvo™…an exciting new marker featuring a six position collapsible and foldable stock, an AR15 style shroud with four built-in Picatinny rails and a new AR15 style magazine that doubles as a helpful toolkit. The marker also incorporates a flat-top Picatinny rail built into the receiver, which makes it simple for players to quickly add a handle, site, scope or a variety of other modifications.

As an added benefit, the Project Salvo marker can be easily enhanced with an eGrip™ as well as several other performance upgrades from the Tippmann 98 Custom® Platinum Series, including the Cyclone™ Feed System, Response™ Trigger and Flatline™ barrel.

Much like Alpha Black™, the name selected for this new marker is rooted in U.S. military history. Project Salvo was a series of tests conducted by the U.S. Army’s Operations Research Office (ORO) from the mid to late 1950s. The research obtained through Project Salvo helped lead to the development of the AR15, which would go on to become the M16 – widely considered among the most respected and proven rifles ever utilized by the United States armed forces.

Personally, I’d love that AR15 stock on my A-5!

  1. It is great to see Tippmann make a product release and start shipping on the same day. This should have been done on the TPX as well.

  2. i agree im going to get this for my B-Day in November

  3. Are the shroud, buttstock and clip compatible with the original Alpha Black marker?

  4. Yes, its compatible with Alpha Black.

  5. Can you get the shroud, stock and mag separately?

  6. Will Project Salvo also come out with the cyclone feed and Egrip already installed?

  7. Thanks for the reply on the cyclone feed and egrip.

  8. can i install the egrip i i want?

  9. no cyclone feed because then the folding stock could not fold all the way

  10. where can i buy just the salvo stock and shroud? and how much will it be?

  11. Are there any other shrouds/ stocks that will fit the salvo? Like, any 98 stock will fit or no? want to put an air-thru longbow stock on it.

  12. dam this marker is awesome, is this marker compbatible wit the flatline barrel

  13. Has anyone played with this gun in woodsball? and how is it?

    • I use this weapon for woodsball often and I love it. I put the cyclone feed system, vortex mod, and egrip on it and can change to various different roles depending on what my squad needs me for, CQB, heavy assault, or sniping.

  14. the Project Salvo and the Alpha Black are made by tippman its kinda like a run-off product that tippman made but since its make by tippman im pritty sure that any 98 part will fit on the alpha black or salvo the only difference i think is the design

  15. Hoy thid gin yesterday amd looks of fun guys remember leave no prisoners

  16. This is a really nice weapon, not surprising from Tippmann. About the only thing I have seen wrong with the weapon is that the shroud is only attached with one bolt on the bottom of the weapon and is apparently supported by the barrel the rest of the length, but change to an aftermarket barrel and the shroud becomes loose, unstable, and wobbly. The addition of a picatinny rail riser to bridge the shroud and reciever fixes the problem, but blocks the infeed from being released.
